Our Story · Since 2014
WE DIDN'T INVENT CHEESECAKE.
WE SAVED IT FROM FLORIDA.
Twelve years ago it was a couch, a warm oven and a farmers market table. Here's how a melted slice turned into cheesecake in a jar.
A NIGHT OF BAKING.
The ovens stayed warm all night. Dozens of New York style cheesecakes baked, cooled and set while we caught a few hours of sleep on the couch, until the planes landing at the nearby airport became our alarm clock.
On November 1st, 2014 we set up at our first farmers market, passed out samples and waited. People took slices to go and more home for later. The dream was starting to take shape.
THEN CAME THE SUN.
By midday the Florida heat had other plans. Customers came back with melted slices, and we replaced every one. On the drive home, the cooler shifted and most of what was left broke apart.
We were a little defeated, but not done. So we sat down around the kitchen table to figure it out.
ONE WORD: JAR.
After a few hours of talking, someone said "jar" and the table went quiet. Simple. Sealed. Easy to grab and go. A little trial and error later, cheesecake in a jar was born, and it set us free.
Every layer you can see through the glass. Every jar made by hand.
